Market Update (9/30)

Markets snapped a single day losing streak on Wednesday with all three major indexes closing the day higher. The broader indexes gained roughly 1% each as investors digested the debate performances as well as renewed optimism for an economic stimulus. Market leaders Amazon (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Tesla (TSLA) each closed higher on the day, taking back moderate losses from Tuesday.

At the close, the $DJI gained 1.20% to 27,781.84. The NASDAQ Composite closed higher to 11,167.51, up 0.29%. The S&P 500 gained 0.82% to 3362.97. The Russell 2000 closed 0.21% higher to 1507.74.

The InvestorsPrism family of indexes closed mixed. The PRISM Emerging Gene Therapy index closed higher by 0.3%. The PRISM Emerging MedCannabis index was higher by 0.3% on the day. The PRISM Emerging MedDevices index dropped by 0.3%.

Other PRISM indexes also closed mixed. The PRISM Emerging MedDiagnostics index lost 2.0%. The PRISM Emerging New Economy index closed lower by 0.6%, and the PRISM Emerging Pet Care & AgriBiz index closed lower by 0.3%. The biotech heavy PRISM Emerging Vaccines & Cell Therapy index closed higher by 0.2%.

The top commodities are trading mixed at the 4:00pm ET mark. Crude Oil is struggling to break the  $40 resistance level and is trading at $39.99 per barrel, Gold is trading modestly lower to $1892.70 per oz., and Silver is having a weak day down 4.19% at $23.42 oz. Bitcoin ($BTC) is trading range-bound at $10,740.26   as of 4pm est.
